My love affair

My love affair with the black currant card stack from DCWV continues...

The butterfly is an Anita's stamp stamped onto the reverse of the black card and then cut out, bent the wings up a little and placed 3D foam pads under the wings to keep them raised, a few diamantes for the butterfly trail and a stamped sentiment. Very simple but I think effective.

I've entered this into the following challenges -

No new cards

Good morning world!!! I have no new cards to post today as I just couldn't get comfy last night. Every time I lean over my desk to colour an image my baby bump kicks me in the ribs and I have to straighten up again lol obviously this little one doesn't like being squished!!!

So, as I have no new cards I thought I would post some older cards instead. In March I was asked to make some wedding cards ready for an April wedding and a May wedding. Here they are

I used Lili of the Valley stamps for both of them and papermania textured card from the capsule range. A few brads or diamantes to the front and the inside of each card was made to reflect the front so it wasn't just plain white inside. Both these cards were bigger than I normally make, these were 8inch cards. I hope they were/are received well by the 2 happy couples, I know the lady who ordered them was pleased with them so that makes me happy!

Another LOTV boy stamp

Been a busy day today, after the school run I discovered the usual post office I use weren't opening until after 9am today then I had a phone call regarding the new sofa I have ordered - the delivery guys were at my house ready to see if the said sofa would fit through our narrow door way. Well... after 2 cups of tea and a bit of me pleading they took the front door off its hinges and made the sofa fit Yippee!! So 10 weeks from now I should have a lovely and comfy sofa in situ in my front room. I can't wait lol

Anyway, onto today's card - This is one of my favourite stamps "pirate bear" by Lili of the Valley. I decided it was about time I made a boy card after all my pink and purple creations.

The wood grain effect backing paper came from the paper mill shop and the blue panel was taken from a magazine a little while ago and I can't remember which magazine it was.

The challenges I have chosen to enter this card into are

New card stack

Yesterday I visited Hobbycraft to buy some clear stamps but was really disapointed with the range they had. I had a wander around and came face to face with the most tempting card stack by Die Cuts With a View called "black currant". As the name suggests it's black and purple/pink with foiled pages. Totally gorgeous so I bought it!!! Sat at my desk last night "stroking" each and every page of the 48 sheet pad before deciding on 3 of the pages and my "dancing Willow" stamp to create this card.

Blinged her up a bit with glossy accents and pink dimantes.

She will be entered into the following challenges -

Something girly

I may be outnumbered at home with the number of boys in this house but I still enjoy making girly cards and using pinks and purples and lots of flowers. Made this card using a stamp from (I think) http://funkykits.co.uk/ the stamp is called Bubbles and I think she is gorgeous!!

I've glittered her bubbles and the flower centers are glittered brads. Papermania linen effect card and a Martha Stewart punched boarder, not sure where the ribbon came from as it was a piece I had laying in a box.

I'm going to enter this card into the following challenges

My new Lili of the Valley boys stamps

I couldn't wait to order some of the new boys stamps from http://liliofthevalley.co.uk/ when they went on sale at midnight last Wednesday. I got up at 1.30am and crept downstairs in the dark so not to wake the children and booted up the pc and placed my order. I was totally amazed when I got home from doing the school run on Thursday and found my whole order sitting on my doormat!! Now that's what I call a fab service!!

Set about playing with my new stamps and made this card.

This stamp is called Abracadabra, I've used papers from a docrafts halloween paper pack that I had left over from last year, a martha stewart punch and some purple brads. I love this image, especially the too big hat and the spell book proped up by his teddy!!

I'm going to put this card into the following challenges

http://lexiscreations.blogspot.com/ - spots and/or stripes

Thank you

I was asked to make a thank you card and decided to tie it in to a few challenges I found on http://felineplayful.blogspot.com/ I also found the sketch on the same site although I altered it slightly by using a square image rather than an oval one.

I am going to enter this card into the following challenges -

60th Birthday card

I was asked to make a 60th birthday card and the onlybrief I was given was "it's for a man" - so from that I took it that they did not want it to be pink or flowery!!

I had a think about it and remembered that I had some Hunkydory embossed card in gorgeous yummy chocolate colours sitting in my stash just waiting for such an occassion.

I added some peel offs and some gold coloured dots.

I'm going to enter this card into the following challenges -

Another challenge - which I tied into a card order!!

Good morning, just a quick post before I bundle youngest son into the car to go and collect eldest son from pre-school then head out to nanny and grandad's for some lunch before collecting my eldest child from senior school - phew, Monday's are always non-stop in this house!!

Anyway, onto the card for today. I was asked by my sister-in-law to make a wedding card for a collegue of hers from work. Having no idea what colours the bride was going to wear I pulled out my stamps and found a fab papermania stamp from a goody bag and I chose what I consider to be a lovely shade of aqua ink.

Sent my sister-in-law a photo message of the finished card to be told it's the same colours as the wedding invitation she received - how's that for a coincidence!!

A few diamantes and pearls, a martha stewart punch border finished it off nicely.

I'm going to enter this card into http://just-hanna-stamps.blogspot.com/ and http://movingalongwiththetimes.blogspot.com/ for their Thursday challenges.
